There is a huge Farmer’s Market/Flea Market just outside of Daytona that makes a great place to shop rain or shine. Ponce Inlet is just down the road, offering light house enthusiasts a chance to tour one of the best preserved and still functioning lighthouses on the East Coast as well as visit their great museum. The Museum of Arts and Sciences is a great way to spend a rainy day.

My family spent every summer in Daytona Beach from the time I was about 1 until I was 18 – then I started going other places on my own. I haven’t been back in a really long time. I loved that you could drive on the beach, and we used to rent mopeds and drive up and down. The old boardwalk – which for some reason I remember people calling the “Broadwalk” – was lot of fun, and seeing the links to the Midway Fun Center really took me back a lot of years!
