Already done the “touristy” things on your last visit to New York City? Check out these off the beaten path favorites.

1. Museum of Modern Art

The Museum of Modern art is another great place to see some incredible art. There are always new artists and exhibits being featured at the Museum of Modern Art – see what’s going on ahead of time to make the most of your visit. And be sure to check out MoMA on Friday evenings for free admission from 4pm to 8pm!

2. See a Show

As home to the one and only Broadway, NYC regularly has shows playing that are some of the best in the world! Especially if you’re just visiting New York City for the first time, seeing a show should definitely be on your to-do list. Broadway is obviously the king when it comes to the theatre scene in NYC, but it’s certainly not the only way to go; and with tickets that can be rather pricey, it might not quite be within the scope of your budget. If that sounds like you, then check out The Beacon Theatre on the Upper West Side for an incredible theatre experience!

3. High Line

The High Line is a must for anyone who’s never experienced it before. This walkway is built on old railways that are elevated above street level, giving you a unique view of the lower West Side of Manhattan. However, the best part is arguably the street art scattered throughout the High Line. From large graffiti-esque displays to unique sculptures, you never know what kind of creative art you’re going to see. This is a great way to soak in the real culture of NYC!

4. Chelsea Galleries

If you like art, there are a ton of art galleries for your viewing pleasure in the Chelsea District. And just like the High Line, many of the galleries are completely free to enjoy. Just waltz on in and soak it all up! If you’re planning on visiting the galleries, check out which Chelsea galleries are available ahead of time to make your trip as efficient as possible.

5. Check out what’s happening!

If you can’t decide what spend your time doing during your visit, you should look ahead before your trip to see what kind of events are happening in NYC while you’re there! NYC has so many things going on that there’s bound to be something you’re interested in happening while you’re going to be there. With everything NYC has to offer like art galleries, theatre, incredible food, and exciting nightlife, you’ll never run out of things to do in NYC!
