With the holiday traveling season almost on us, just about everybody’s thoughts turn not only to Christmas shopping, but to how am I going to get where I need to be?
It’s a fact; the busiest travel day of the year is the day before Thanksgiving. That Wednesday is the kick off date for holiday season traveling. And if you haven’t made your travel arrangements already, you should be thinking about doing them pretty quickly. There is a much smaller lower fare rate window during the holiday season than at any other time during the year. And sometimes waiting just a day or so to finalize your plans could cost you hundreds of dollars if your decision takes you out of that window.
Other dates that will be difficult to book during this time of year are the Friday, Saturday and Sunday before Thanksgiving. With so many offices also closing on Black Friday, more and more people are taking advantage of the opportunity to have a week’s vacation time without missing an entire week of work. And with Christmas falling on a Sunday this year, December 23rd and December 26th are also going to be big travel days.
So whatever your plans are for the holidays, if traveling is part of it, please make sure to book your trip as early as you can!
