Day 1  –  Welcome to London
Arrive at Heathrow Airport where your driver will meet and take you to your hotel in central London. There will be a panoramic tour of London before you check into your hotel after 3pm. The rest of the day is free to rest and relax.

Day 2  –  Portobello Market
After an early breakfast, head to Notting Hill and explore Portobello Road which has been a market since the 1800s but became particularly famous for its antiques in the 1950s. Now there are numerous stalls offering everything from fruit and bread to posters, vintage and designer clothes, bric-a-brac, music and, of course, loads of antiques!  Have your lunch at Babylon in Kensington afterwards. This restaurant at the top of the building has the advantage of a huge terrace, a garden and real flamingos! To finish your day take a leisurely stroll through Kensington Gardens in the afternoon.

Day 3  –  The history of Afternoon Tea
The morning starts at your hotel where Caroline will come to meet you and accompany you to the famous Victoria & Albert Museum to learn about the history of afternoon tea. Here you will tour the British Galleries and learn about the journey of tea from its origins in the Far East to its arrival in Europe, and how the manners and customs of English tea drinking have been transposed into the afternoon tea that is now served in London’s famous hotels.

In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to taste and examine different teas and compare the differences between origin and blended tea; learning to identify depth of flavor, the ‘briskness’, and the creaminess or astringency of the tea liquor.

Day 4  –  Traditional baking and hosting Afternoon Tea party
Today you will learn all of the skills you need to make and bake delicious cakes for a traditional English tea party. Caroline will share her secret recipes for the perfect Victoria Sponge cake, tasty traditional scones, and crumbly melt-in-the-mouth shortbread. In the afternoon you will enjoy your very own afternoon tea while Caroline will be sharing with you all-important dos and don’ts on how to host the perfect tea party, understand the party etiquette and be a relaxed and confident hostess.

Day 5  –  Covent Garden and the West End Show
Spend today exploring Covent Garden area. Housed in and around the iconic Market Building and Piazzas, Covent Garden is an architectural masterpiece. Along with the specialty shops, restaurants & cafés is the Apple Market where you are sure to be entertained by street performers while perusing the gorgeous craft, antiques and curios on offer. Finish the day with a trip to the West End to see the show of your choice.

Day 6  –  Free and Easy
With so many shops to choose from, you will be spoilt for choice, maybe start at Fortnum and Mason where you can treat yourself to a special tea and not forgetting the Liberty’s store. Take a walk on New Bond Street and admire some of the world’s finest diamonds and jewelery; and visit shops on Regent’s Street for some last minute shopping.

Day 7  –  Home Time
Private transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
