Some great news for all the basketball fans out there, pending a final agreement between owners and players, the official Basketball season will kick off on December 25, 2011. What a great Christmas present for all of the NBA fans. While the schedule has not been finalized, NBA Commissioner Stern is hopeful that it will be possible to have a 66 game season.
With Tip Off scheduled for Christmas day, the rest of the season could possibly run as follows:
Regular Season Start Date: December 25, 2011
Regular Season End Date: April 26, 2012
Playoffs would begin on April 28, 2012 and the last possible finals date would be June 26, 2012 There will be 48 conference games:
• Play 6 teams 4 times (2 home, 2 away)
• Play 4 teams 3 times (2 home, 1 away)
• Play 4 teams 3 times (1 home, 2 away)
The 18 conference games shape up as follows:
• Play 3 teams 2 times (1 home, 1 away)
• Play 6 teams 1 time at home
• Play 6 teams 1 time away
