The Romance Writers of America conference was AMAZING! Not only did I get to sit in on and moderate incredible panels, I got to meet some of my favorite authors, too! And the literacy fundraiser was a complete success raising over $50,000 for three Orange County charities: ProLiteracy Worldwide, Read OC, and Literacy Volunteers – Huntington Valley.
I’m a die-hard sports fan and got to meet Jaci Burton who pens the Play-By-Play series sports romance books for football, baseball, and hockey. Her newest football book, Playing to Win, comes out September 4th.
I also had drinks with two of my favorite paranormal romance writers Laura Wright (Mark of the Vampire Series) and Jennifer Lyon (Wing Slayer Hunters Series). Laura’s new book, Eternal Beast, comes out August 7th. Jennifer is working on her next installment of the Wing Slayer Hunters series, Cage Magic. I’ll keep you posted on a release date.
One of my new erotic romance favorites is Roni Loren. She’s a debut author and has published three books this year: Crash Into You, Still Into You and Melt Into You.
All the books listed above are great beach reads. Take some time for yourself and read one (or all) of them and let me know how you like them!
Next year’s conference is in Atlanta. Who wants to go with me?
What a neat experience, getting to meet the authors in real life!
It was amazing, almost the same as meeting tv or sports stars, but better!
Sounds like a wonderful event! Great to meet up with others who share the same interest!
It was, Carolyn, they are genuinely friendly.
Awesome event for those attending! I have some already scheduled but I will share with other I think will be interested 🙂
Author events are the best! And best of all, they are pretty accessible.
Sounds like you had a great time…thanks for sharing it with us!
You’re welcome! Everyone should find things to do that bring us joy. =]
Such a great event for writers! Thank you for sharing, Maria! 🙂
It was amazing! There were over 100 workshops for writers so they could get tips on their craft, career, and so much more.
How wonderful that you get to do something that you love!
Absolutely…everyone should be doing what they love!
